Autumn Winds concert – 12 November

14th September 2016

Autumn Winds Concert Details
The London Consorts of Winds are please to present a programme of delightful and varied music to aid a cause as worthwhile as that of our local Foodbank.
We have three ensembles:
  • Our Clarinet Consort will play music especially written for clarinet, including the premiere of a piece by one of its own members.
  • Our Classical Consort is a double wind quintet, and they will perform more traditional pieces, by Holst and Brahms.
  • Our Ancient & Modern Consort plays arrangements of early music and new pieces written for it. It will play what was said to be Handel’s favourite of his pieces, the opening of Palestrina’s best know Mass, and give the premiere of a piece by a modern French composer.
At the end the Consorts will join together to perform an arrangement of the Largo from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons: Winter, to bring our concert of Autumn Winds music to a fitting end.
