August Newsletter

22nd October 2018

We are delighted to announce that London promoters Chaos Theory and Wrongpop have approached us to run a Foodbank fundraiser with all proceeds raised supporting our work. The evening will include some of the best underground sounds including The Treasure of WoeCarl White and Apocalypse Jazz Unit. If you are free tomorrow (Saturday, 25th August) and fancy watching this impressive eclectic mix then get your tickets here for only £5.
In July and August we held two Tesco supermarket collections in quick succession to help us generate much needed supplies. A special thanks to Sage and Sodexo for providing corporate volunteers, and to all our other volunteers including Foodbank clients who helped on the day. A final thanks to store manager Bryan and to all those who made donations. We collected 4 cages of supplies which will be a huge help!
On Sunday, 16th September we are hosting a stall at the Herne Hill market from 11am-4pm. We’ll be collecting money, giving out shopping lists, telling people about our service and no doubt we’ll have our usual selection of tasty refreshments available too. If you would like to help us run the stall please email
#KnowlesFest is a family friendly day taking place on Monday, 27th August at the Knowles of Norwood pub. There will be charity raffles, local art, musicians, food and of course the usual pub refreshments. There will also be some treats for underage regulars. The event takes place from 11am-11pm and our Foodbank has been invited to host a stall  during the afternoon. If you could spare an hour or two to volunteer please email [email protected]. Alternatively just turn up and enjoy the fun!

We are short of these foods. If you could purchase any of the above mentioned items, we would be very grateful.
