Record 1.6 million emergency food parcels provided across UK

25th April 2019

It’s not right that more and more people are struggling to eat because they simply cannot afford food. In the past five years, the use of foodbanks in the Trussell Trust’s network has increased by 73% – over the last year, 1.6 million emergency food parcels were provided to people in crisis.

Here at Norwood and Brixton Foodbank, we provided 9,929 three day emergency food parcels to local people between April 2018 to March 2019. Of this number, 3,863 went to children.
