We have added a new giving platform to our website for those who want to make online financial donations. It allows you to make regular monthly donations or one-off gifts and gives you the option to pay the small transaction fee if you wish. There is also an opportunity to create a fundraising page so start getting creative with those sponsorship ideas! You can still donate directly by standing order or cheque if you prefer. See the full range of options here.
A big thank you to Nene Warehouse Solutions for providing the new shelving for the South London warehouse which we are setting up in partnership with other Foodbanks in South London. The help from Nene is greatly appreciated and enables us to create a high quality storage space. The pictures above give you a preview of how our new warehouse is shaping up. A special mention to Pauline and Jane for all their help, especially unloading all our shelving in the pouring rain!
We wanted to give a huge thank you to Julius who has spent almost two years vounteering with us through a work placement organised by Priory School. He was focused, helpful and a great role model for his school. We are very grateful for all his help and wish him well at his new college.
A round of applause for our young volunteer Cherry Holden who managed to raise £50 for Foodbank at her school fair by selling jewellery. Thanks for your initative Cherry and for standing out all day in the baking sun!
We enjoy a great partnership with baby clothes, toys and equipment charity Little Village and it was no surprise to hear from one of our Foodbank guests just how much Little Village had helped her. Sasha said ‘it was my first time at Foodbank and I was already grateful for the food but then they referred me to Little Village. There I swapped some baby clothes my daughter had outgrown in exchange for a brand new children’s bed and more clothes. I am so grateful for all the help I have received’.
We’ve had some busy Foodbank sessions over the summer that have left us needing more supplies. There is a big need for tinned fish, bags of rice (500g, 1kg, 2kg), tinned carrots, cooking sauce (tomato & vegetable), custard and rice pudding. Shower gel and soap are also in short supply. If you can help by providing any of these items we would be very grateful.
We’re still in the midst of summer but we want to give you some encouragement to start planning your harvest donations for autumn. To help us coordinate as efficiently as possible we would appreciate it if you could contact us to register your interest so we can support you in the planning process. Thank you.
We have three distribution points across the Borough of Lambeth with different opening times for each. Click on the above image for more information regarding our food distribution points.
We are looking for a volunteer with good carpentry skills and tools who could help us with a few small tasks. We require approx. 10 hours of support during August/Sept. Most of the tasks will be at our new warehouse space in Streatham Hill (parking available). We can be flexible around timing and days of the week. Please do apply using the new online application form found on our website.
Our shelves don’t always look as full as this; in fact, there are always a few items that we are especially low on. Click on the above image to view the products which are in short supply.
