Job Vacancy for ADVICE CENTRE CASEWORKER – WATERLOO FOODBANK

Based at London Waterloo, SE1

Full-Time, 40 hours per week, 12 month Fixed Term Contract (with a view to extend)

Salary £26,620 per annum (inc London Allowance)

 

Oasis Hub Waterloo is looking for an experienced Advice Centre Caseworker to work with those who have accessed Waterloo Foodbank. This vital new role will support people to reduce their debt and maximise income through benefits advice. We are looking for someone who can take on a new challenge, providing high-quality advice casework and one-off support to people in crisis.

 

Oasis believes that every person matters and, as a result develops community hubs that meet people’s holistic needs and benefit the whole person and the whole community. Oasis Advice Centre has run a debt advice service and foodbank as part of Oasis Hub Waterloo for the last eight years. More recently, we have begun developing further advice and support programmes, including benefits and immigration advice and we are looking to further develop the services Oasis Advice Centre can provide. We have secured specific funding to provide advice to those who have accessed the Waterloo Foodbank.

 

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Demonstrable experience of debt and benefits advice casework.
  • A passion for supporting people in crisis and those with multiple and complex needs.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of social welfare policy.
  • Excellent organisation skills including experience of data management and keeping case records.
